Founder & President, AAWIT
Monique Boea is the Founder and President of African-American Women In Technology (AAWIT), with over 25 years of experience in business, web design, programming, and technology leadership. Monique is dedicated to empowering and advancing African-American women in the IT field through training, employment, and community support.
In 2000, she was featured in the Atlanta Tribune, highlighting her early contributions and rising influence in the technology space. The following year, in 2001, Monique made history as the first woman of color to be featured on the cover of InfoWorld magazine, a milestone that underscored her trailblazing role in the industry.
In 2002, her impact was further recognized when she received the National Women of Color Technology Award for Business Woman of the Year from Career Communications Group, as well as the Woman of Distinction Award from the Miss Black Atlanta USA Scholarship Program, honoring her leadership, community involvement, and dedication to excellence.
With deep expertise in application development, web design, and digital strategy, Monique is passionate about using technology to create meaningful online experiences. Her work focuses on building platforms that inspire self-awareness, personal growth, spirituality, and holistic well-being. She continues to champion innovation, diversity, and empowerment within the tech industry and beyond.
